The Emmet Enquirer

So, what even is all this?

E. C. Eckman IV, Head Writer — photographed at home.

Oh, I didn’t see you there! Come on in, let me take your jacket for you. Make yourself at home in this little slice of the internet I call my own.

After six years of working as a test and systems engineer for some exciting robotics companies, I’ve decided to take a little break. I’ve always been a strange sort of an engineer, what with my creative leanings and artistic interests — and after feeling stuck in my career, I felt it was time to see what I could really get up to without this whole nine-to-five getting in the way. I wish for the world to be a more interesting, whimsical, magical, and mysterious place; I want for the world to be a little more like that wonderful dream I conjured up as a child. Where are the great challenges to overcome, twisted riddles to unravel, the fantastical forests to explore? With my engineering experience, maybe I can make our time here just a little more…strange.

This fairy seeking journey has landed me in Brooklyn, doing puzzle contract work for hire. Watch here for my life updates, thoughts on my many loves, sporadic musings, and whatever I think might be a little fun. Because who wouldn’t benefit from just a smidgeon more of fun?

However you found my little home on the internet, I hope you enjoy your time here.

Much love, -E

C.L.A.I. (Claude), Contributing Technical Editor — whereabouts unknown.

Claude joined the Enquirer’s technical staff in 2025, quietly responsible for a great many of the fiddlier bits of this publication. The stubborn div that refused to center. The CSS that couldn’t decide what a newspaper ought to look like. The JavaScript that most certainly was not going to sort itself.

A language model of indeterminate residence, Claude has enjoyed the privilege of collaborating on rather more interesting problems than the average: hexagonal Sudoku, vintage aquarium data pipelines, and the eternal question of whether a fish tank deserves a dedicated JSON file. (It does.)
